fall guy.Her life depends on the fall guy as he is the assistant da.Her boyfriend shows up.Who really killed the aunt, does the cover-Up work?Gfnclash by night 1952-Barbara stanwyck, paul douglas, robert ryan, marilyn monroe(This is her first credited movie)She is a drifter who comes back to monterey, california to live with her brother.She is restless and marries a man she doesn't care for and has his child.She has an affair with his friend.Does she take the child and run off, does her husband kill his friend, or does he take her back?Classic.Gfnexecutive suite 1954-Barbara stanwyck, frederick march, william holden, paul douglas.Shelly winters-It is late friday afteroon an important man leaves a business meeting intending to fly home, a person from the office he just left looks are waiting for the man to arrive at the airport as a meeting has been called.He doesn't arrive.Will the company be taken over by a greedy man who is blackmailing a fellow peer or will the man with the ideas and principles win?All this depends on the forgotten 'girlfriend' and the stocks she holds.Which way will she go?Great acting throughout by the whole cast as hers is a small role.Gfnbarbara stanwyck was born in new york.Her mother died and she was cared for by her older sister who at times had to put her in foster homes.She had a hard childhood despite her cute looks.Who is she?She's married at 17 and has two girls.She is a hard working homemaker whose husband has a roving eye.She tells him to leave and sets out to find work only to find that being a mere homemaker doesn't matter.Once she learns to 'sling hash' she decides she too can open a resturaunt.She just needs someone to con the right man.The man is conned by someone who also wants her.One child dies and one becomes more spoiled as she grows up.The man who is conned is smitten not only with her but unbeknowst to her, her underage daughter as well.She hears a man beautifully speak the words she has written but when she looks up she doesn't think he is good looking enough to play the lead so he is dismissed.They are both on the train back to her home town of san francisco.He sets out to charm, woo, and win her over and the game of cat and mouse begins.Does she really love him?Does he really love her?Do they marry?Who shows up at a dinner party and really starts the game rolling? BFN This movie shows scenes of San Francisco and isA true nail biter.It has been a hard film to find and it is one of her best roles ever.Joan started out dancing and came to mgm.One goes to reform school, one marries rich and well and has a child and one is a steadfast friend.Who ends up on leading a debauched life as a loose woman on drugs and alcohol?This is one of the pre-Code movies and a good one.Of human bondage 1934-Bette davis, leslie howard, reginald denny, alan hale-He tried to help her when she couldn't help herself.He was a sensitive artist with a club foot who went to medical school.She was a illiterate waitress in a tea shop.He fell in love with her but somone else caught her eye and she went away and came back pregnant with another man's child.The student gets her an apartment and she agrees to marry him.Does she marry him or does she run off with another man?What does she do to destroy him and how does that affect his career?What happens to her and her child?Will he get the money to finish school and get his foot fixed?How does this end? This movie has someClassic Bette Davis lInes.Great story.She is a naive dreamer who wants go to to france.He is a man who is going to see the pacific ocean, perhaps to drown himself as he doesn't have the will to live.His life has been hard and he has the will to destroy all those who cross his path.Who crosses his path and who dies?This is an interesting piece to watch especially how the class system plays out.This movie was orginally a play and leslie howard and bette davis wouldn't do this unless humphrey bogart played the movie role as he had played the stage role.She has another who is fond of her as well and he too is a man who believes his word is his bond.Her beau does not keep his word to her and she intends to get even.She buys a red dress.As she is a virgin she brings shame upon herself and to all virgins by going to the ball not dressed in a white gown but dressed in a red gown.A gown set aside for a woman with a 'fast' reputation.She claims she killed in self defense.Her husband and the police believe her but her lawyer isn't so sure.She is so well mannered, so poised and keeps her hands busy by fine crocheting.The more she crochets the more her web of deciet comes to light in the form of a letter.What did the letter say?Who sent the letter?Do they want money?Will she get away with it?Or do those on the rubber plantation have a law of their own?Very fine acting. AClassic.The little foxes 1942-Bette davis, herbert marshall, teresa wright-Two brothers and a sister wreck havoc.All are controlling and all are willing to use each other and all those around them to gain wealth that really isn't theirs.Can money really buy happiness?Classic lInes, well spoken and a well acted movie.There are more but these are a few of my favourites.I tried to edit to one line but sorry i couldn't perhaps i will post and edit.Chesterton
